Deload

A Deload is when collision is removed from objects that are glued to a checkpoint. This happens when a player spawning out of a checkpoint dies or despawns at a timeframe when the player's hitbox is part of the checkpoint - the same oversight is used for the Overlord Glitch.

Deloads can also be used in pair with Reloads to bring back collisions.

Tutorial

For solo runs, switch controller numbers to create a new player. As it's spawning out of a checkpoint, pause the game and wait 10 seconds or try using the Friends menu while offline to perform a reload and speed up the process.

Examples

  • You can deload the entrance in The Meerkat Kingdom to reach the scoreboard right below.
  • Deloading one of the checkpoints in The Frozen Tundra allows to reach the last section early.
  • The "Wheel of Death" in The Bunker can be skipped by deloading its first checkpoint.

Game differences

History

The first known appearance of a deload is from July 4th 2019, where RbdJellyfish removed collision from the airship platform in The Terrible Oni's Volcano by continuously dying in the horrible gas.[1] However it wasn't until March 2nd 2021, when fritt uploaded his clip showcasing another deload in Boom Town, which caused the community to investigate further.
