LittleBigPlanet/100% No Overlord

100% No Overlord is a single-player category where you need to collect all prize bubbles and get all prizes from scoreboards. This means that you have to visit the scoreboard of any given levels at least once after you've picked up all prize bubbles.

Since a lot of the prize bubbles are in co-op sections (x2, x3 and x4 sections) and only one controller can be used, some of them can only be collected using tricks.

History

There used to be a YouTube playlist by p-p-j showing how every co-op section could be completed with only one controller, which inspired routing of this category. However, the strategy for the x2 section in Elephant Temple was very hard and had never been done without cheats. In March 2021, fritt found a much easier method for it, finally making 100% No Overlord a viable RTA category.

The first part of the route was originally written by Orange on Pastebin in 2017. It was then revised and completed by RbdJellyfish and kadiwa (and probably others) in 2021. Since then, documentation on the route has not been updated.

Route

There is a video version of this guide here. Some levels have more up to date videos, this will be pointed out for those individual levels. Since the co-op section strats are currently not explained here, you can watch the level videos to see how they are done.

If nothing is specified, use common sense and collect all visible items. "Ace only" in the title means getting all keys but no prize bubbles unless specified. Getting keys on the first visit is faster because then the two level-unlock animations in the pod will play simultaneously. Try and ace each level on your first full playthrough unless specified.

Pausing the game just before dying and turning off your controller can save the level ace. Turn it back on after the pause menu closes itself and respawn. This is faster if you connect your controller with a cable.

If you collect a prize bubble while the host player is not playing, it won't count. It doesn't matter whether or not the sticker inside the bubble is visible.

Introduction

There are three ways do this level:

• Video 1: Play as intended, switch to controller 2 after activating the final display for cutscene skips.
• Video 2: Do controller switching and do rainbow fling. Second player should do the fling.
• Video 3: Solo rainbow fling. Switch to controller 2 as you spawn, make sure the first player despawns and doesn't die to being off screen.

First Steps

• Use star and teapot after the first section
• Jump off horse to trees and use star

• Don't forget prizes that drop down to your left after you placed the tail

• Don't sub clip at the start to collect items below and to the left of the submarine landing point
  • You can spawn a second player to collect the prizes at the left of the sub, then switch back to host. Text bubble should refresh the 2nd player out of screen death timer and then despawn in time
• Use rose sticker to the right of first giraffe set
• Wait on the third giraffe and grab the monkey's tail to get to items
• Take upper branch route and then go to the left
• Go below the giraffe on the left
• After the first grab switch giraffe, do the x2 area (host should stand on the lower button; alternatively you can LCJ up)
• Go up and left after checkpoint to the right of the second grab giraffe (Or get a high jump off the giraffe) to get to the secret area
• Go left before the race and use the steed sticker. Collect the bubble above by jumping against the branch
• You can still race gate skip off the bottom drum on the way back
• If you can, RCJ off the race gate up to the trees (you will have to drop down to get starfish decoration)
• Otherwise, use the monkey at the end of the race to get up to trees

Burning Forest 1 (Ace only)

The Meerkat Kingdom

• Don't worry about dying in this level
• Run to the right at the start and use the sticker switch
• Pull out styrofoam in race for item
• Collect all items using the bouncy meerkats and in the section where you drop down
• Run to the left and do the x2 section
• RCJ to item in the next room to the right
• Use controller switching to get the item in the ceiling
• Run up and right just before disco room and use sticker switch
• Collect items in disco room
• Use stripy tail to get past the meerkats that have magnetic key switches for items
• Collect all items and the key the bouncing up section
• Bounce to the top and use the sticker switch
• Complete the level if you haven't died
  • Otherwise, restart and use out of bounds skip or skip skip for ace

Burning Forest 2

• Ride the first buffalo all the way to the end for items
• Ride the buffalo all the way to the left and use sticker switch
• You can attempt croc fling to get up to the trees
• Otherwise, go up after the swing section, then die after you reached the left end of the trees
• Go up on top of the big wooden croc and use the sticker switch
• Go to the right inside the big wooden croc and do the x2 area
• Go to the left after the first drop and use sticker switch

The Wedding Reception

• Go above spikes where the first enemy is (no items below) and don't get the checkpoint
• Grab one balloon and let go at the ceiling. Make your way to the right by jumping across
• Respawn after obtaining the "Skeleton Hat" sticker (see screenshot)
• Use the sticker switch above the first enemy (after the single bounce section)
• Grab the elastic after the balloon room and go right for items
• Jump over bouncy skull and continue right for x2 area (make sure you collect the item hidden above the second enemy)
• Go back to bouncy skull and jump up
• Ignore the skull on the left, there is nothing in there
• Use the eye sticker on the sticker switch
• Jump down on the right of the rightmost skull and grab the thing
• RCJ off the last skull elevator up to items and jump on top of the skulls instead of on the mouths
• Collect the items to the bottom left of the bounce section
• Collect the key above the last bounce platform
• Go left at the end of the level to collect the items and key on top of the big skeleton

• LCJ off Don Lu to get x2 items
• After the final elevators, do the sticker section on the left

Tips (some tips only apply on the acing attempts):

• Practice beforehand and decide whether or not you want to do this level in 1 or 2 tries
• If you miss a prize I would recommend trying to ace that try instead of second
• If you want, you can wait a bit to slow down the skulldozer down to make it easier to collect the items
• Get ready to pause if you are about to die. Despawn and respawn so you can ace
• Be careful when you land close to a corner as it might auto switch you to the gas layer
• If you miss some parkour and can't reach a prize, it might be worth pausing and respawning to land up on the prize (If you are really trying to do skulldozer in one go)
• Some prizes are worth pause-buffering to make sure that you collect the prizes

Boom Town

Video

• When the door opens, jump onto the structure to the right and collect the bubbles
• Walk to the left and collect the prize
• Alternative (slightly faster): Spawn player 2 as lift is going down. Collect the prize to the left/underneath. Instantly switch to player 1 and exit the lift collecting the prizes on the cliffs/rocks
• Collect the two items behind the cactus to the left of the first NPC
• Collect the bubbles behind the two cacti after the spike cactus section
• Jump up the cliff (normal Any% strat) and don't forget the key
• Ignore the x2 section for now
• Press the first explosion button and the one above that, but not the one to the right
• Collect the piñata bubble and jump back to the left onto the building
• Drop down on the left side of the building and get the two hidden prizes
• Go back to the right (not down) and do the x2 section
• To get the bubbles that fell in the spike pit, drop down while pause buffering, and turn off your controller to despawn before hitting the spikes
• Collect the items on top of the house and behind the ramp
• Grab the prize in the rocket car section
• Do Boom Town Skip to get the prizes above the sticker sensor area, but don't do the whole skip
• If you miss it, get the sticker sensor bubbles using the stickers; you can jump up onto the beam in the back layer to avoid getting bombed if you miss, just make sure if you do miss to remove the sticker to make the prizes fall down
• Make sure to not miss any of the five bubbles in the jail
• Blow up the sponge and do the other x2 section

The Mines

Video

• Head right over the two red wheels and place the sticker
• After the two enemies you're trying to fling over go to the left where the mine car comes out
• Do the x2 area
• Get the bubble to the right (next to the elevator)
• Do an LCJ off the lever that opens the two hanging things to get to the sticker sensor
• Get the other bubble in the hanging thing
• Jump down and to the right to get another prize
• On the next mine car ride, be prepared to jump to get a prize (close to the beginning)
• Don't do race gate skip
• After the race gate pull a bomb to the cardboard wall on the right
• Push (don't pull) the bomb car to the right and blow it up
• Get the bubble under the first red spinning wheel
• Do the normal slope jumping strat
• Use checkpoint deload to skip the Mexican Scary Mask sticker sensor
• Do the x2 strat
• Get the "Green Gecko" sticker at the end of the level

• Use the first bounce pad

• After the next red sponge go to the left to the sticker section
• Do the x2 section (video)
• Push the block to the right and place the sticker
• Jump onto Zapata and to the left
• Do Zapata Skip if you want
• Press D-pad down to select the next level

• Continue on and get all bubbles above the 2x section
• Do the 2x section and reset after collecting all bubbles there
• This time you need to ace
• Place the sticker that you ignored the first time
• Continue to the Mags' Legs spot and place the sticker on the car

The Drag Race

The Construction Site

• Use the beam that's normally used for the skip to get bubbles
• Place the following stickers in the sticker area to the right:
  • Place sticker 2 on the two left panels
  • Place sticker 1 on the bottom middle panel
  • Place sticker 2 on the top right panel
  • Place sticker 3 on the two remaining panels
• After the rolling basketball, switch back 2 layers
• Do the 2x area (video)

Subway 2

• Get the key + prizes above the elevator
• Switch back 2 layers and drop down
• Go to the right and collect the bubble you missed

The Dancers' Court

Video

• Play the level up until you get the "Prince Face" sticker above the snake
• Collect any bubbles along the way that you can conveniently get while waiting on cycles
• If you haven't died, head back to the right and do snake skip to complete the level for the ace, then restart the level
• Get the bubble behind the shopkeeper's head
• Use the prince face sticker to get the prizes
• At the first wheel of platforms, activate the checkpoint, get the bubble, and use death abuse to avoid having to wait a full wheel cycle (unless you still haven't aced)
• After collecting the prizes on the rotating platforms after the snake, spawn 2 extra players at the upper checkpoint and do the 2x area.
• Try to use Brossentia-era strats to save a cycle in the race (harder though when you have to collect a bubble)
• Use the stickers on the sticker sensor before the downward section
• Collect the rest of the bubbles and finish the level

Elephant Temple

Video

• Do a bounce jump to skip the sticker sensor (if you can't, complete a second visit after getting the sticker from Great Magician's Palace)
• At the usual LCJ section, edge jump to reach the hanging bubble, pull the box to the left, put a sticker on the sticker sensor, go through the hole behind to get the hidden sticker, then LCJ up the usual route
• At the sliding platforms, get a boost upward to activate the sticker sensor + get hidden bubbles
• Don't forget the bubbles hidden under the floor in the wave section + the bubble and key at the end
• Enter the 2x area, grab the 2 bubbles + key above the elephant with the guest, do the 2x area, and turn off your controller to respawn on the elephant
  • If you've already died, enter the 2x area, activate the checkpoint for safety, get the bubbles, and restart the level

Great Magician's Palace

Video

• At the block spawner machine, spawn 2 blocks like you would in Any%, and one extra block by the prize bubble
  • Swag strats: only spawn the prize bubble box, and RCJ up to the next area
• Don't die at the usual death abuse section
• Do the 2x area
• Press D-pad down to select the next level

The Frozen Tundra

• Pick the top wolf and collect the prize hanging from the sky
• Pick the top path and go back with the bottom path. Make sure you collect the gear sticker
• In the mini cave, spawn second player and do the sticker trigger prizes
• Switch to host and RCJ to middle path. OR go with the 2nd player but make sure you collect prizes only when the host is alive
• Chase the vehicle across the bridge, get the bubble and hit the checkpoint. Head left to get the bubbles and key and turn off controller to warp back to checkpoint.
• Try Ice slide skip, if you fail, collect the prizes on the slide. Then despawn to get back up again
  • If you get it first try, turn off controller to respawn at checkpoint and get the ice slide bubbles
  • Retry until you get Ice slide skip. Don't pop unless you have already died. Jump back up the slide and try until you get it
• Do the x4 section
  • Controller switching to get into the 4x area is easiest and not too slow.
  • A possibly easier setup for the LCJ is to move a back layer box near the checkpoint, stack a soldier on a box in the front layer, and LCJ off the front layer soldier from the back layer box. Setup is slow though and handling the soldiers is finicky.

The Bunker

Video

• At the spinning tubes, if you're on a bad cycle, RCJ up to the snow to get the bubbles in the back layer
• Use the tubes to jump up, and do the 3x area
• After the 3x area, do a bounce jump to get the sticker sensor stickers.
  • If you can't do this, you will need to return after The Collector's Lair
• Jump down to get the key between the two tubes, get the bubbles you freed with the cannon, and continue onward
• At the section with the enemies, you can do RCJ's/bounce jumps to get the bubbles if you mess up
• You can skip the first layer of the wheel with checkpoint deload if you want (video)
  • Note that the wheel spins faster the closer to the middle you are, so delay jumping to the next layer as long as possible to save a few seconds

The Collector's Lair

• Jump across and get the sticker sensor bubbles

  • If you miss a bubble, pause the game and turn off your controller to respawn. Don't drop or you'll activate the next checkpoint.
• Rescue Gardens gang 🤝 and collect all the prizes from the characters you rescued
