Those are my notes for learning this beautiful category. Done on latest with minimal peeks at Inclusion's run. Feel free to screenshot.
0. General info
Fight your muscle memory and don't hold to retry on scoreboard lmfao.
1. Down Under
Note: you can swap e, f, g and do them in any order you want, for example if you want to leave Dreamtime and the cutscene for last.
1A. Introduction
Any% route. Updated version does not have the bug with Ace and Complete icons, which Inclusion tried to fix in his run by recompleting Introduction.
You have to reenter Introduction so it gives you the 100% Prize badge. Down Under won't show the 100% badge otherwise for some reason. I think it shouldn't matter honestly and level badges should be verified instead.
1B. Walkabout (first visit)
Any% route with Hold to Retry skip on first visit (most optimal). You don't have to get it on the first try as you'll trigger the race later on, but it lets you retry in case you would need it.
1C. Gift of the Grab
- You can RX jump from the boomerang to the left to get up top without dragging it around.
- First sensor sticker of a footprint is found in Walkabout. The second sticker is found in the level and it's a worm. When you get it, reset the level to use it. Comparison is needed for backtracking vs restarting.
- When you reach the sheep, go behind it first before pulling it - there's a prize.
- Jump on the first monkey seesaw from the left, use the grabbable hat if you have issues with getting the jump. Go to the left to collect the prizes.
- Don't forget the key on the right to the second monkey seesaw.
- At the final section, get at least one full spin on each of the boomerang "windmills". Then go to the upper route and jump up to get the prize high up. Don't forget about the bubble with the sheep which is below the arrow.
1D. Didgerido Didgeridon't
- Find the star sticker at the bottom route after the penguin and restart.
- First star sticker sensor is to the left of the entrance.
- The second one is to the left of the area right before the spider and penguin section.
1E. Dreamtime
Just collect everything and ace the level, don't go for the skip. It's not Skulldozer, so it's actually easy for an autoscroller.
1F. Walkabout (second visit)
This is when you get all the prizes.
- At the start you can jump from the rock onto Bruce and up to the tree to collect the prizes a bit quicker. You could also instantly jump up from the rock onto the tree.
- After going all the way to the left in the wide tree section, you could death abuse, assuming you got HtR skip on first visit. Remember to get the hidden prize bubble behind the ramp on the right.
- In the windmill section it could be faster to first collect the prizes on the tree, then the windmill, fall down and get the other two bubbles and THEN go through, comparison needed.
- There are prizes on the tree after Hold to Retry.
1G. Sheer Madness & Wave Goodbye
Both are survival levels.
2. The Orient
2A. Mortar Do
- Prize below first furnace.
- At the second fucked up despawning white block section go down for the prizes and key first, then go up to top-right, drop down to get the prize, repeat, go left to the bait route, then go top-right again, around and jump on platform while grabbing prize before the block despawns.
- After that do NOT skip the section with going down by sponge. There are four prizes you have to collect in there.
2B. Dragon On A Bite
- Get the prizes from up top before going on the ride.
- Unfortunately you have to do the chase first try no deaths.
- At the falling down parts, make sure to go to the opposite wall before exiting them. If you forget about the bubbles there, you can wait until the dragon passes by, so you can come back and get them. The prizes seem to be glued onto the last platform.
- Jump at the ice slide to get a key and four prizes, and then go down to get two more.
2C. Eggstraction
- You don't need to actually solve the puzzles to get the code pieces.
- Pandamonium: get the prize at the top of the main moving platform and in the top left, then leave.
- Teeth (10pm): Just get the 3 prizes and leave.
- Bullseye: Complete phase one and then only shoot down targets with prizes on them.
- Maze: The most complex puzzle of them all. Unfortunately you have to complete it in its entirety. Get the black sponge to its place as intended. Get the prize in the corner where the larger piece of electricity is going. Grab the checkpoint and the extended jetpack and go for: red, orange and black sponges. Go for the button and finish the puzzle. Go bottom left from where the solution is and you'll get the two prizes.
- Get the prizes in the middle of two sponges at the very end when you're going back.
- If you die, finish collecting the prizes until going back to the code section, then restart and do an IL.
- From left to right, the code is: Tiger/Orange, Swan/White, Dragon/Green, Snake/Red.
- If you want to train your muscle memory, from right to left its:
- one slot to the right,
- one slot to the left,
- press button,
- no pull,
- two slots to the right,
- press button
- Get the prize in the dragon's jaw before it flies away.
2D. Double Dragons & Stamp Collector
- Survival levels.
- For Stamp Collector it's faster to retry.
3. The Bazaar
3A. Cheeky Monkey
- Grab the vase at spawn and drag it to the big vase. Use it to get 3 prizes up top.
- Instead of going straight to the monkey, grab the world costume pieces first.
- Do the first dropdown skip but try landing at the platform, then go left to the prize area.
- It's safe to do the second dropdown skip, you won't skip any prizes but it's risky if you want to keep the ace.
- After those sections, swing the flower vase into a hidden area with 2 bubbles.
- After jumping through the enemy and going through with the palm tree, use the second bouncing platform (without jumping for extra height) to reach the area with 3 prize bubbles.
- Bounce high enough to grab the flower vase and swing to the left in order to reach the bubble. After that use the bouncing platform to reach another prize area.
- There's one prize on the left side of the snake section.
- Be very careful with the enemies at the forest section. Dying to them will lose you around a minute, assuming you reset instantly.
3B. Thieves' Den
- Get the sponge box off of the weight and jump up off of it.
- After delivering the pizza and going down, there's a prize behind the vase.
- At the second button area, first go to the platforms without pressing any buttons to get the key.
- Be careful with the fire ball cycles.
- When the monkey appears, the cage with 3 prizes will be open.
3C. Rugs and Kisses / High on Rugs
(added the old name for a reason lol)
wip
3D. Ladderal Thinking
- Listing this as a seperate level because for some reason it's a minigame level WITH FUCKING PRIZES. Because of this you cannot go for snake skip.
- There is one prize bubble that's barely visible on the right of the last moving platform section. The rest are obvious.
-1. Theoretical strats
- Walkabout: It could be possible to swing on the right side of leaves behind the kangaroo to skip the route around the entire section. Didn't manage to get that though but it seems so doable.
